Our state conference was held at Tirupathi on 24,25 of July 2010.Iwas reluctant to attend the conference at first. But YLN requestd me to attend it on both the days.WRRPrasad and YLakshmi narayana help me very much. So ,when they were taking so much pain to make it a grand success without VVRAGHAV,at least I could attend it.
Iasked our manager that I would not attend branch on 24th. He obliged. But next day he recieved information that GMwas visiting the branch. He requested me to come on SAturday and that he would permit me to leave by 12.30pm.But we knew that in CBS environment it is not so easy. So we procede to tpt on Friday evening.Surya kumari, our substaff and her husband also accompanied me to tpt.By the time I reached Ramus house , it was 8.45pm. Ramu was not in town. He was due that night from Chennai.

Saturday morning Ileft for the venue ,Sindhura Kalyana manadapam by 8.45am. Prasad took me to dining room. THere Imet Suryakumari and we both had break fastand came outside. Sambasiva Rao saw us and greeted us.Sambasiva rao is our state secretary. We sat in chairs and he came to us. I could not control myself and I broke down. Because after Prasads demise that was the first time I was facing him.He consoled me and went away. Next.
Kuppaiah chetty sir , Sastry ALSO CAME AND CONSOLED ME. After some Itook control of myself.
iNTHE AFTERNOON ,Kmala, Rama,Suryakumari and myself went to Kamals house to relax.I wore cottonj saree and it got rumpled. So,Kamala gave me a silk saree. I wore it. By the time, meeting was over and we had dinner it was half past nine. Everyone was congratulating him. Rama and I too went to congratulate him. Suddenly he bent dow and touched my feet asking me to bless him. I was surprised. I did not expect such behaviour from him.THen he said he always treated me as his elder sister and my blessings were essential for his success and progress. ATthat time,Rustogi, our general secretaRY OF CBEU CAME there. THen. Sambasiva rao inroduced me to him. he said Iwas his sister and that even 10 years back itself, even dgms were afraid of me.I was such afire brand.Iwas happy for his guesture.

Fire breakout at Jyothi talkies

Till then,Idid not what was meant by fire accidents. In summer. during the nights fire catches and spreads with in notime. Low caste people and poor people, they live in huts. Some accidentally thow cigarette butts without putting off properly. Some do it to bring damage to the opponents. IN kitchen wood would be burning in low level and if due to wind or combustable article comes near it , fire breaks out. IT passes on with so much speed. Wind accelerates it.Much water is needed to stop the fire break out. In summer water shortage is accute. ,More over . most of the time theses occur during nights. By the time every one is alerted and fire extinguishers come most of the damage is done. Within no time , so many people became homeless. all their possessions are burnt. For some pets. buffalows. cows also die some times. because they are tied and no one releases them in such dire time.mOST OF THE TIME THEY ARE THATCHED HUTS. SO those burning embers fly long distances due to wind and unaccountable dfamage is done. Governmets help is always meager and always the needy and deprived and actual persons dont get the much needed help.
ALMOST, Every summer , for so many years I have witnessed fire breakouts near JYothi talkies.IT is so pathetic and heart churning. First time. Iwas woke by shouts in the middle of the night. When I woke up, from our house red flames could be seen and dried grass was flying all over ,some of it burning. Near our houses also, in every house they collecte dwater and kept ready to stop fire breakout in case due to heavy wind more embers came in this direction. All my neighbors and my parents stayed all thriough the night without sleep.I was ablack day.THere was sorrow written on everyones face.
I could not do anything. Idid not know what to do.
Now thatched houses are very few in towns. So such type of calamities are not frequent. THat is a solace to me.So need for pakka houses is top most priority in my view.

Thulasamma attha

Thulasammaattha was younger sister of my father. She was a child widow. She was given in marriage to a widower. He was a goodnatured man. Hehad no children. But he helped my father in his studies. He would ask my father to teach him cycling but he could never learn it properly. Even his elder son was a widower and he too did not have children. He was a diabetic patient. Once, his toe was injured and became septic. iT seems that the doctor advised him to remove it. He felt how he could terminate the toe. Next week , doctor seriously advised him that his leg had to be removed if wanted to survive. Even then he could not really assess the gravity of the situation and alas he lost his life and my my aunt a child widow.
My aunt was strong willed. In those dfays she studied up tomatric and worked as a warden and in hospital as a nurse. She kept her self busy . She made some friends during her travels and tranfers who stood by her tillher last breath. As she did not have children she adopted a child from a hospital at nellore. She named him Suresh and looked after him very well. She kept her friends as trustees to her property till he became a major. She died of breast cancer in 1978 .
She was very jovial and always cutting jokes. She would tell us as many stories as we wanted in our childhood. She would prepare spicy items in those days too. which y mother did not know. She was very obase. I liked her very much. Once when they asked me to write about the person Iliked most Iwrote about her. My brothers and sisters appreciated that article very much.
Really Iloved her visits us very much.

venkamma attha and subbarao bava

venkammattha was my fathers elder sister. She used to come to our house with her grand daughter suryakumari. Often she used to come. My mother would keep quiet but I felt she never liked her.May be because of her bitter experiences in the past or because they would come for monitary help. She use dto cook very nicely. even yerra gadda pacchadi would taste very differently and nice. Her son was Subbarao bava. He was a womaniser. In whatevr palce he was ,he would maintain a lady who would pose as his genuine wife.because he would not take his family with him on transfers. So all the family members suffered alot due to his weakness.he ha dtuberculosis also and my father set his health by providing medicenes to him. His wife Lakshmma took up the family responsibilities. She was not educated.sO JOINED AS SERVANT MAID IN RICH bRAHMIN HOUSES in villages near Nellore and got her children educated. Children also grew up to be responsible . they were teaching kids by tutions and doing tailoring to help their mother. Suryakumari, Nnagarahna studied like that only and became teachers in private schools . Later Subbarao bava stayed with tem almost after retiremet till his last days. Mamathatha and Venkammatha were worried about chidren and their welfare till their last breath.. But by gods grace all the children are settled and happy now.

how Ipassed my fifth class

Iwas a good student. Ther were hardly 10-15 students in the class.Myclass teacher was a ldy. She was married and her house was in chintakayala street. She used to send me to her house to keep some things there or bring any thing from there.Iused to go gladly because Ineed not sit in the class room during that time but roam about. One day sent me to keep some thing in the house and she told me not to touch any thing.I went with my friend and then Isaw a bottle full of ghee in the almirah. Idid not see so much ghee in my house till then. I tried to open the bottle but it slipped and tiltedand some of the ghee fell down. I was afraid. If we set the bottle straight . she would know we have handled it. So we left it like that only and returned. Next day, teacher asked me whether we have seen the bottle. WE said we did not. She was wondering that she kept the lid tight ,then how come ghee fell on the ground and all the ghee she purchased was a pure waste as all of it fell to the ground.
By rhe time annual exams were nearing , my friends used to give her gifts or some thing. I was afraid she would fail me if Itoo did not give her anything. more over that incident of ghee. Isuspected she knew the truth that i was behind that mishap..So every day Iused to weep in the house that Itoo would give something to her. Blouse pieces which I got by going with my uncle to railway Kodur i remembered. Iasked my mother and took one blouse piece, fruits and gave her.
From then on Iwas confident she would pass me. At last Ipassed my fifth standard.hurray.

about the picture inception

Myson and my son in law both hve told me to see the movie inception. It was a grand success in usa. I told them that here there was no rush for its telugu dubbing. THey said that it was a nice movie and only for the intelligents. Iwas confident that Itoo am intelligent. So I went with Mythili to the movie last night. By the time we went 10-15 mits picture wes over. So we could not relate with the plot from the beginning.
Overall what I understood was we should not lose our childhood in the struggle for success. In dreams we exagerate things 1000 fold. Even for a small tilt actually, we feel as if we are falling in to the abyss. WEcan dream of most improbable things inarticulate things. In spite of all these, reality would be flashing now and then. People and incidents we love most or hate most would be repeating in our dreams repeatedly. Besides this Icould not understand the story very much.
rEGARDING , Leonard we were very much disappointed . We could not relate him to charmig youth of Titanic.Hewas like a thug. Hedid not even look like a hero or side hero. While in the theatre only, we thought of clarifying with vikky and chaithu what the picture was all about.
THe only thing Iwas happy about was that after a long time Mythili and I have gone to a picture alone. WE went in her scooter. WEpurchased eatables on the way and went. actually because of that only we missed the beginnig of the story.
So at last we have seen inception and got confused whether we are intelligents or not.

parents need for privacy

According to me mother was my sole property. All rights reserved for me only. One day in the afternoon my mother and father went to sllep in the storeroom. Isearched for my mother and she was not in the hall. SO I went and found her in the store room with my father. Itoo lay with her. My father asked me to go into the hall and sllep there. But Idid not heed his words. THen he got angry and hissed at me to leave thet room. I left the room weeping.
But now when Ilook back, Ican understand their plight. parents with five children, most of then adolescents. where and how can the find privacy to fulfill their sexual urges or for few intimate moments. It is really pathetic. In fact, that store room didnot have any doors or windows. It was besides our kitchen. THere was no ventilation and it was always dark there.
after that time, Inever faced such situation. My mother loved me very much. Ilove her very much even today. She sacrifised everything for us. She did not have anything personally to gloat for. All the time she was working like a machine without rest or relaxation.

our neighbors

Itold you that we shifted to another house in manchala street. IN the adjacent portion. bachelors were staying . they were working in different places. Sometimes, on holidays they used to bring ladies to their house. It was said they wee spw college lecturers. BUT soon they vacated . Another family joined . Of the couple husband was hinduand wife was christian. It seems in in certain families they dont object if the wife converts into another religion. they were a happy couple. On one of their marriage days. he invited his friends and gave them party. For tha, he invited my father also. They asked him to speak on the occasion. Idont know what my father spoke, but all of them clapped and it boosted my father smorale.
In fact, my father dreamt of becoming a poltical leader. On some days , when he was relaxed, he would stand before the mirror and start practicing a poltical speech. HE would start his speech-sodara sodari manulara, andariki vandanam. After taht iDONT REMEMber anythng.

licking the old mud walls

While I was studying my fifth standard at Manchala veedhi badi,we girls used to play running, skipping other silly games. INall those games, the loser has to lick the old walls . they were salty to taste. In those days we did not know it was wrong or unhygenic. eVERY ONE DOES SO iWAS ALSO DOING . It was all part of the game.Once I quarrelled with my friend, jamila. She was my neighbour. For few days ,we did not talk.AFterwards Iwanted her to talk to me. But she was not talking tome. Itried my level best but she did not talk to me. Then I prayed to lord Venkateswara. that he should make her talk to me. L;ater we became friends again. Ieven went to their house and used to drink water in their house. her mother used to offer me some eatables but Iwould run because Iwas afraid that my parents would scold me if they came to know about it.In their house , they used to hang meat bits on the upstairs. Just beside my house. they were making metal vessels. It is avery big business there. Most of the pilgrims , who come to tirumala buy some thing there as asouvenier of the trip. Rond the clock they would bemaking sound while making the vwssels manually. We got accustomed to that so much that if for a single day thay stop that we could not survive. life was hollowor not complete. All my sisters and brothers studied medicine there only.

govindamma &her family

We shifterd our house neare to sivaiah chinnayanas house. because the previous one was mud house. this was a pucca house. our uncle and aunt were staying in govindammas house for rent. She was the second wife of Muddukrishna naidu. He was around six feet. She was hardly 4ft 8inches. theirs was love marriage. Both were drama artistes . Sravana, Nageswara rao, purna, Sandhya and chi tti were her children. Of them Sravana was my friend. NJageswara was my class mate. Iused to play with them. There was an old lady in their house, probabaly govindammas mother. BUT THEY WOULD NOT ALLOW HAR IN THE HOUSE. All the time she used to stay in the passage . She was always in rags. Iused tolike Sravana because like other members of her family she was not rough and tough. She was calm, quiet and soft spoken.
ONE DAY. she matured. For nearly ten days ,there was festive atmosphere in their house. Each day, they would decorate her in different ways and call all the neighbors. It was new to me. In our house , for my sisters ,my mother did not do like that.Iwent every day to their house and enjoyed other children doing dances and singing songs. ELDERS USED TO GOSSIP THAT BECAUSE THEY WERE OF LOW CASTE, they were doing such hungama.
THere were four single rooms.my uncle aunt were staying in one room. in the adjacent room, venu and venkataiah were living. they were bachelors. Venkataiah was a quiet person. He was workin in ttd garden as a gardener. They were RAJUS. THEIR NATIVE PLACE WAS NEAR RAILWAY KODUR, RAJAMPETA KOTA AREas. FOR ONE SUMMER. HE TOOK US TO THEIR VILLAGES. iACCOMPANIED sivaiah chinnayana and pinnamma to those villages. THERE HE showed us kissan fruit canning and juice factory. He took us to all his relatives in near by villages. Wherever we went. they gave us blouse piecs both to me and my aunt. We roamed for a week and returned. after our return, my aunt gave my mother only two blouse bits. I told my mother nearly more than 10 bits they gave me but my mother didi not ask her.
In Manchala street, there were two tailors who were brothers. One was mastan. I used to go to him for getting my dresse stitched. Younger one was a very jovial one During the time of festivals , Iused to sit there till he stitched my gowns. I would pester them like ,if they did not.
LATER i came to know that elder brother had typhoid and during that time , he became insane. Actually , I saw him wandeing in the streets mumbling something within himself. Ifelt very sorry for him.Younger one became a constable later.

khushi is ashas daughter. In my last trip to nellore I WENT TO RAVI BABAI HOUSE, pedda mama s house and sarojakkayyas house.that day was country wide bandh by opposition parties against petrol price hike. Iwent to peddakkayyas house. asha ,khusi and peddakkayya were there. When I first went there,. khushi did not talk tome. She was simply smiling and looking at me. THis time, she came to me happily. SHE PLAYED WITH ME. She told all the rhymes she learnt in her school. She wrote all the letters and wordw she learnt, She told me all about her class mates and their names. She told me about all the games she plays in her school. She came to me so naturally with all the love and affection. all the time she was saying that I was beautiful and she she was kissing me saying -chinna ammamma nuvvu chala muddosthunnavu naku.Iwas very happy because at least there was some one who could see my beauty and my loving nature.
at 3.30 pm when I said Ihad to leave. she was pleading with me not to leave, but play with her.IPREPARED MASALA VADALU FOR HER.she enjoed and ate them happily. after much cajolling and explainig that I had to ho to mpl and Ihad a job to do. she let me leave her.
Next time ,when Igo. she said she wanted gown from mpl. pink stone ring, white one, green and blue rings. Isai d ok and left. Ienjoyed her company very much that day. Idetermind to go to nellore at least once in a month at least to see her.
So in my view my trip to nellore was a success.

my childhood again

From Gudur , we were transferred to Tirupathi. On the day of our shifting a dog bit my father. So our journey was stopped temporarily. After few days my brother and sisters left for tirupathi because schools and colleges had started. They stayed in one of our fathers friends house.BY THE TIME WE ACTUALLy left for Tirupathi it was more than a month.Iwas joined in Manchala veedhi school in fifth standard. It was a small house. In our class there were hardly 10 students. An aged person was our head master. Our class teacher was a lady. She was beautiful and married. For prayer we used to sing kamalaku cha chuchuka kunkumatho slokas of lord venkateswara. Soon I made friends with Ambika, Mastan bi and Jamila bi. Her sister was Zeenath and she was very beautiful. they were living adjacent to our house. Ther was municipal park near our school. We used to go there to play. it still is there.
First we joined in a mud house . there scorpions were found every alternate day.I was singing songs even when I went to toilet and every one was laughing at me. But I didnot care. One day when my mother was lying with a saree as apillow, scorpion has hid in to its folds. luckily it did not sting. My father used to get severe stomach ache and severe bouts of asthma. for days together he could not even stand up. Myy mother used to look after him besides readying us for scool and colleges. She used to keep bowl filled with ashes for him to throw flulm from time to time.My brother once was playing with our kali pattilu on the verandah and came insida. thief has taken them away.
Once I got fever and my mother carried me to hospital.I was nearly 10 years old at that time.
I used to take ana or arthana from my mother and go to petty shops nearby to buy veyinchina senagapappulu and kammarakattu. I used to like them very much.
