licking the old mud walls

While I was studying my fifth standard at Manchala veedhi badi,we girls used to play running, skipping other silly games. INall those games, the loser has to lick the old walls . they were salty to taste. In those days we did not know it was wrong or unhygenic. eVERY ONE DOES SO iWAS ALSO DOING . It was all part of the game.Once I quarrelled with my friend, jamila. She was my neighbour. For few days ,we did not talk.AFterwards Iwanted her to talk to me. But she was not talking tome. Itried my level best but she did not talk to me. Then I prayed to lord Venkateswara. that he should make her talk to me. L;ater we became friends again. Ieven went to their house and used to drink water in their house. her mother used to offer me some eatables but Iwould run because Iwas afraid that my parents would scold me if they came to know about it.In their house , they used to hang meat bits on the upstairs. Just beside my house. they were making metal vessels. It is avery big business there. Most of the pilgrims , who come to tirumala buy some thing there as asouvenier of the trip. Rond the clock they would bemaking sound while making the vwssels manually. We got accustomed to that so much that if for a single day thay stop that we could not survive. life was hollowor not complete. All my sisters and brothers studied medicine there only.
