Anjamma and my second sister joined in tailoring during summer holidays. They learnt ton stitch blouses and shirts , bags , skirts etc.But nothing came out properly. Each was jealous of the other. Each thought that the other could not stitch well. Truth was no one learnt it perfectly or even in apassable fashion. My sisters along with Anjamma used to laugh so loudly standing outside our homes. Her brothers would not approve of it. I never understood for what reason ,they were laughing like that.

Anjamma contd
My uncle stopped her education after she passed her fifth standard in the village. When others enquired why he stopped her education he would say that he would marry off his daughter soon. Asthey were living in a remote village most of the families way of thinking was like that only.My father requested his sister and Anjamma to join in school. It was never too late, especially regarding education. At that time Ijust joined in sixth standard. She was about my second sisters age. My sister was studying SSLC. So she had to sit in our class if joined in schhol. Anjamma thought it shameful and she denied to join in school. She was a very intelligent girl. But all her intelligence was sidetracked because nothing to do sitting idly at home.
